If Ever Life Needed Spice…it was 2020!

Our Year in Review

Whew! I have never been so happy to write a new year on my page!

Contagiously Grateful Here at 'For the Love of Spice' we are contagiously grateful for all our customers who have supported us this year! When we are forced to sit at home, we all need something to spice-up our solitude. It has been so rewarding to hear how you and yours have enjoyed the recipes I've shared on Facebook.

2020 In Review So to recap our year in review, we have to state the hard-fought obvious; We survived- not one but TWO- shutdowns! While we had to change our hours and modify some of our business practices, we made it through two different shutdowns. While we miss having our isles packed with our customers, especially at Christmas, we have been able to keep our doors open and our spirits high.

Ironically, We Grew Thanks to all our fabulous customers we exceeded our goals for December and actually ran out of some of our top products! Way to go Gig Harbor!! As a small business owner, I can not express my sheer gratitude for all the community support. It's comforting to know people are using and enjoying our products through these difficult times.

Also, I'd like to shout out to Jennifer at Beyond Brand Collective for her social media marketing campaigns that kept us in front of our customers via their phones and screens. I know people can't smell or taste through their computers, but we at least kept our names in people's minds and our flavors in their taste buds.

Moving Forward First of all, we're increasing e-commerce. Now that we have a good clientele base that comes to visit us, we will maximize your convenience when you reorder by streamlining our e-commerce process. We are finding people frequently reorder their favorites, so we want to make that process as smooth as possible.

Second, to improve our e-commerce, we will add more online marketing. This means you will see us pop up in different places in your online world to bring you tips, tastes, and other reminders of how much great flavor and fun we can bring.

Third, we will keep on doing the 'go live' video chats. I've received so many great comments that I can't wait to do more of these. While people may not be out-and-about as much, they still like hearing from the people behind their favorite stores. These 'go live's' enable people to ask questions in real-time via the comments sections. Watch for more of these on your Facebook and our YouTube channel.

Did Someone Say “Recipes”? Lastly, of course, we are going to keep the favorite recipes coming your way. I get so much gratification from testing out new items and then sharing them with you. If you have any other categories you'd like to see more of, like Greek, Mexican, low-carb, quick fixes, or others, please feel free to reach out and let me know. I figure if one person asks about it, it must be on many of our shoppers' minds.

Then, as COVID lifts, we will go back to more of our live, in-person, girls-nights-out activities.

So while things have drastically changed…many things have stayed the same. People still love experimenting with new tastes, flavors, and textures. People also love things that make cooking easier and more flavorful. Those two points will never change.

And since those things will never change, 'For the Love of Spice' will always be there for you. Both in-person and online. Thank you for your support during this challenging time for all. Here’s to a better and prosperous 2021!
